Transaction Log in Addo Sign

The Transaction Log gives you a chronological record of what has happened in a transaction.

Use the log to:

  • Follow recipient activity

  • Check delivery events

  • Confirm signing progress

  • Troubleshoot issues before contacting support.

What is the Transaction Log?

The Transaction Log is available inside each transaction in Overview.

It shows a timeline of recorded events for the transaction, including:

  • Notifications

  • Recipient actions

  • Signing activity

  • Distribution events

  • Errors

The log helps you understand what happened, when it happened, and whether the transaction is progressing as expected.

How to access the Transaction Log

  1. Go to Overview.

  2. Select the relevant transaction:

    Open the relevant transaction from Overview.

  3. In the transaction details, click Log:

The Log tab shows recorded events for the selected transaction.

What you can see in the Transaction Log

The Transaction Log can show events such as:

  • When the transaction was created

  • When a notification was sent to the recipient

  • When the recipient opened the signing link

  • When the recipient identified themselves

  • When documents or attachments were opened

  • When documents or attachments were approved

  • When all documents were signed

  • When documents were distributed to the recipient, if distribution is enabled

  • Which errors occurred, including available error details

Use the Transaction Log for troubleshooting

The Transaction Log is useful when a transaction does not progress as expected.

Before contacting support, try open the transaction and check the log to see whether:

  • The notification was sent

  • The recipient opened the message or signing link

  • The recipient identified themselves

  • The recipient signed, approved, rejected, or stopped during the process

  • The transaction failed because of a delivery issue

  • An error message explains what went wrong

šŸ’”Tip: If a recipient says they did not receive the signing message, the log can help you check whether the notification was sent and whether a delivery error occurred.

Before contacting support

If you still need help after checking the log, contact Addo Sign Support and include:

  • Transaction ID

  • Signing ID

  • Recipient name and email address

  • Current transaction status

  • Relevant log entry or error message

  • Screenshot of the log
