What is Addo Vault?
Addo Vault is a built-in feature in Addo that automatically stores all your signed documents securely.
Without Addo Vault, signed documents are retained for 40 days after the transaction is completed. If the transaction expired you can reactivate it within 10 days.
After these retention periods, the documents are permanently deleted with no recovery options. It is strongly advised to download and securely store your documents within these retention periods.
With Addo Vault enabled, there's no need for separate or manual storage solutions. Each stored document includes a complete signature history, showing when, how, and by whom the document was signed.
⚠️ Important Note: Addo Vault is included with all Addo10, Addo50, Addo100, and Enterprise subscriptions.
This feature is not included with Addo Starter, where credits are purchased on a pay-as-you-go basis. If you are using a pay-as-you-go plan, it is recommended to download documents immediately after completion to retain copies.
You can view our subscription plans here.
How does Addo Vault work?
Once activated, Addo Vault automatically stores signed documents within your Addo Sign account. You can access them as usual from your transaction overview in Addo Sign.
How do I find archived documents?
There is no separate interface for Addo Vault. To access a stored document, locate and open the relevant transaction in Overview.
You can locate documents the same way as before - using filters such as:
Reference number
Recipient name
Transaction id
Or the sending template used
Once you have located the desired transaction:
Click on the transaction
Go to Signing details
Chose the Files tab to access your stored files:
⚠️ You can only download a transaction once it has the Completed status. If a transaction has multiple signers, it will only be completed when all parties have signed.
The Files tab under Transaction Details does not allow downloads.
How do I activate Addo Vault?
Once activated, Addo Vault automatically applies to all eligible past and future transactions. However, it does not apply to transactions that:
Have already expired
Were completed more than 10 days before Addo Vault was activated
Expired more than 40 days before Addo Vault was activated
⚠️ Without Addo Vault, signed documents are permanently deleted once the applicable retention period has expired.
Deleted documents cannot be recovered, so we recommend enabling Addo Vault before important transactions reach their retention limit.
Step 1: Activate Addo Vault
Navigate to Settings (cogwheel in the top right)
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and enable Addo Vault
Step 2: Confirm Activation
Click Yes when prompted
Enter your Account ID (shown in the pop-up)
Click Confirm
Done! Addo Vault is now active.
Don't see the Addo Vault option?
Addo Vault is only available for Addo 10, Addo 50, Addo 100, or Enterprise subscription accounts.
