Copy a transaction

This article explains how to copy a transaction in Addo Sign, what is copied, and what you can change before sending the new transaction.

Use Copy signing when you want to create a new transaction based on a transaction you have already sent.

Before you start

As a Standard User, you can only copy your own transactions. Group administrators and administrators can also copy transactions from other users on the same account.

You cannot copy a transaction more than 10 days after it has expired, because the files are no longer stored after that period.

If the transaction can no longer be copied, create a new transaction instead.

What is copied?

When you copy a transaction, Addo Sign creates a new transaction based on the copied one. The copied transaction can include:

  • Recipients

  • Documents

  • Signing methods

  • Authentication settings

  • Notification settings

  • Other signing settings used in the original transaction

You can edit the new transaction before sending it. This means you can reuse the same setup or change details such as recipients, documents, signing methods, or message text.

The person who copies the transaction becomes the owner and sender of the new transaction.

Copy a transaction

  1. Go to the Overview tab

  2. Click the transaction row to open the transaction you want to copy:

  3. If the transaction contains sub-transactions, expand the row and open the transaction or sub-transaction you want to copy:

  4. If the transaction has multiple recipients, select the relevant recipient from the dropdown

  5. Click the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner of the transaction window

  6. Select Copy signing:

Use Copy signing from the transaction menu to create a new transaction based on an existing one.

After copying a transaction, you are automatically taken to the Send page, where the new transaction is prefilled with the copied settings. Review the transaction, make any changes you need, and send it when ready.

Review the copied transaction on the Send page before sending it.

If you cannot copy a transaction

If Copy signing is not available, check whether:

  • The transaction expired more than 10 days ago

  • The files are no longer available

  • You have permission to copy the transaction

  • You are trying to copy a transaction from another user without administrator access

  • You opened the correct transaction in Overview

  • You selected the correct transaction or sub-transaction (if the row contains sub-transactions)

If the transaction cannot be copied, create a new transaction instead.
