CPR validation

CPR validation confirms identity by CPR-number through MitID services. Validation request is sent and facilitated through Addo Sign.

CPR validation can be used to securely collect or verify a recipient’s CPR number.

If you only have the recipient’s name and email address, they can enter their CPR number securely before you send the documents for signature.

If you already have their CPR number, you can verify that it is correct and belongs to the intended person. The information is checked against the Danish CPR register.

Once validated, the CPR number can be used to send documents to the recipient’s digital inbox or for signing with MitID.

Send a CPR validation request

To send a CPR validation request to a recipient you will require the following, name, email and select a group.

  1. Click Send in the upper-left corner

  2. Select CPR validation in the selections

  3. Insert the required information

  4. Click on the green button Request CPR Validation

Once the request has been sent, the recipient will receive a link where they can confirm their identity with MitID and enter their CPR number.

After the CPR number has been validated, the completed transaction will appear in the Overview for the selected group. From there, you can open the transaction and download the completed file.

Below is an explanation of how the process works from the recipient’s perspective.

Recipient of CPR validation request

The recipient must complete the following steps to confirm their identity and securely provide their CPR information to the sender.

Step 1: Receiving the CPR validation request

The request is sent automatically by email from the Addo Sign system using the email address [email protected].

To access the request, the recipient must click Udfyld formular (Fill out form). This opens a webpage where the next step can be completed.

⚠️ The email sent is currently only available in Danish. We suggest using the mailingsystems translate tool or simply follow the steps below with translations.

Step 2: Identification verification

After clicking Udfyld formular (Fill out form) in the email, the recipient is redirected to the identity verification page.

To begin, the recipient must click Proceed to identification.

Here, the recipient will be asked to sign in and authenticate with MitID. Once the identity verification is complete, the CPR validation document will open.

Step 3: Review and sign the CPR validation document

The recipient must review the document containing the information retrieved from the Danish CPR register.

If the information is correct, the recipient must click OK to approve the document.

The recipient must then click Skriv under nu (sign now). As the recipient has already authenticated with MitID, the document is signed automatically without requiring another login.

If the recipient instead clicks the Afvis (reject) button, they will be prompted to give a reason for the rejection, and the sender will be notified of the rejection and reasoning.
