Use this option if a signer’s name, e-mail address, phone number, title, authentication method, or signature method needs to be corrected after the transaction was created.
Before you start
In this article, an active transaction means a transaction with the status Started.
You can edit transaction details while the transaction is still Started and the signer has not yet identified themselves or signed.
You cannot edit signer details after the signer has identified themselves or completed their part of the signing flow.
This article covers fields in Transaction details. Fields such as Expiration date, Send notifications every, Final notification, Signing note, and Reference number are edited under Signing details.
⚠️Important: Signers do not automatically receive a new notification when you change their details. If you update the signer’s e-mail address or phone number, you must send a new notification manually.
This article does not cover failed transactions. If the transaction has the status Failed, use the separate article about editing a signer’s e-mail address on a failed transaction.
What can be changed?
While the transaction is still Started, and the signer has not identified themselves or signed, you can edit the following fields:
Signer
E-mail
Phone
Title
Authentication
Signature
Authentication and Signature can be edited from the signer details, but some methods may be linked. If they are linked, changing one method can affect the other.
You can only edit fields that are available on the transaction. For example, if a phone number or PIN was not included when the transaction was created, it cannot be added afterward from Transaction details.
The available fields are shown in the signer details when you click Edit.
Edit transaction details
Go to Overview.
Open the transaction you want to update.
If the transaction has multiple signers, select the signer you want to update.
Click Edit in the transaction details:
Use Edit to update transaction details on a transaction with status Started.
Update the relevant fields:
Note: If the transaction uses a linked method, for example MitID, Authentication and Signature may be connected. If you change the method that is not locked, the linked method may reset to None, so you can select a new combination.
Click Save.
A confirmation message appears when the changes have been saved.
Send a new notification
If you changed the signer’s e-mail address or phone number, send a new notification manually.
If you only change Authentication or Signature, you do not need to send a new notification. The change applies to the signer’s existing signing flow, and the original signing link remains valid.
Stay on the updated transaction.
Select the updated signer.
Click Send new notification to signer:
Send a new notification manually after updating the signer’s e-mail address or phone number.
The new notification is sent using the updated signer details.
If you cannot edit transaction details
If you cannot edit the transaction details, check whether:
The transaction has the status Started
The signer has already identified themselves
The signer has already signed
You have access to edit the transaction
You selected the correct signer in the transaction details
If the signer has already identified themselves or signed, you may need to copy the transaction or create a new one instead.
